Wardrobe Diaries – #VisalaEats – Detox menu at Gaucho

gaucho

It is all too familiar to hear your friends complain about how much weight they have gained after Chinese New Year. But it presents a good reason for me to visit this very chic restaurant – Gaucho, located in the heart of Central, for their monthly special detox menu.

“Feel Good” or “Feel Great” – the black and white menu satisfies your stomach while keeping the whole course under 1,000 calories. To top up the pleasure, it also allows you to switch courses in between the two.

Shrimp Chicharron

We started with 2 appetisers. First up, the shrimp chicharron impresses with the unbelievably crispy shell, dipped in Aji Amarillo sauce. It is so crispy and tasty that you would want to challenge yourself to finish the whole shrimp (even the shell) without leaving any bits and pieces on the plate!

Confit Mushrooms

The second appetiser was the confit mushrooms. Keeping it green and healthy, the mushrooms’ freshness were well balanced with a dash of balsamic vinegar and a sprinkling of stilton cheese, without the addition of any other seasoning.

Oven Baked Sea Bass

This was one of the most tender sea bass I’ve ever had in my life! Nicely baked sea bass with crispy skin makes it an enjoyable eating experience. Garnished with red onion, French beans, and olives, the mix of greens and saltiness leads your taste buds on a great journey as the presentation does.

Rib Eye Steak

It is never too difficult to decide your main dish when you are dining at an Argentinian restaurant – when Argentinian cuisine is famous for its love for beef. This mid-rare tender steak is sprinkled with some peppercorn sauce, creating multiple textures and flavours. This is comfort food at its best.

Grilled Pineapple and Banana Rum Cream Sponge

I finished up with the Grilled Pineapple and Banana Rum Cream Sponge. Though I would have to say for the very first time, I enjoyed the appetiser more than my dessert.

Dare to show your curves and toned abs with nice fitted clothes if you have the package for it. While on the process of achieving it, a detoxed meal and some creativity in layering up your outfit is always a great choice to shift focus from your slightly bloated figure. I’ve done quite a lot of layerings on my way to Gaucho. Double layering of skirts playing with contrasting textures, further on, a vest upon a shirt, the key to making a balance from excess layerings is to keep the colour consistent. Just like the dishes I’ve had in Gaucho, you’ll be surprised by the unconventional layerings, whether it’s the taste of food or the apparels you’ve put on.
