Eat Like No Other – Hong Kong After Hours

Hong Kong is known for being the city that never sleeps, with neon lights constantly flashing and people roaming the streets until the sun comes up. So if you’re suffering from a bit of jet lag or you happen to be more of a night owl, then this city can provide anything you want, no matter what time it is.

Whether you want cereal for dinner or a workout at two in the morning, you can explore all the wonders of the night that this city has to offer instead of just laying in bed counting sheep.

Eat: The Flying Pan

If you’re craving a bit of a midnight snack or want to eat at five in the morning, The Flying Pan can cater to all your food needs. They specialise in breakfast foods such as everything eggs and hotcakes, which is perfect for when your breakfast is a little bit earlier or later than the usual time. They also offer a range of sandwiches from grilled cheese Philly steak to a smoked salmon bagel for anytime of the day. There’s even a cocktail and drinks menu for if you’re in need of an extra boost to help you sleep.

Bar’s in Hong Kong tend to stay open well into the early mornings anyway, but Bar 109 takes it to the next level. During the weekends this bar is open 24 hours, so if you wake up needing a bit of booze boost then this bar is the go to place. On weekdays the bar is open from 3pm – 10am, which is pretty much all day anyway. They offer almost every cocktail under the sun and a wide selection of wines and beers, so you wont be stuck for choice. But really who doesn’t want to drink champagne at seven in the morning?

Relax: Sunny Paradise Sauna

Travelling can seriously take its toll on our bodies, sitting in the same seat for hours on end and having your skin dry out. So a bit of treatment when you land is very well deserved. Sunny Paradise Sauna is open from 12pm – 6am and offers a range of treatments from saunas to facials. They have a separate floor for each gender and due to its ambient lighting, you wont be able to tell the difference from day and night. They offer different prices depending on whether you visit during the night or day, but they are mainly all around $200. Just remember that they put a bit of pressure on for a tip, set some money aside.

As it’s name suggests, you can have fitness anytime of the day at this gym. Whether that be a late night urge because you feel a bit sluggish after a flight, or an extra early morning because you can’t sleep. Not only will working out make you tired, but it will also help you to stretch out those stiff joints. An extra bonus of it being open 24 hours is that you get to avoid the crowds and fit it around you schedule. It’s located in 22 different countries around the world, so wherever life takes you, your fitness doesn’t have to suffer.

Although Hong Kong doesn’t have a particular 24- hour mall for shopping, they do tend to stay open later then usual until around 10 or 11pm. There are many convenient stores around the city that are open at all hours, such as 7/11 and Circle K. Which offer a large variety of things for such a small store, from snacks to medicine you can stock up on all your essentials. If your flight has landed a little later then expected and you haven’t got food in the fridge, there are even a few Wellcome’s in locations such as Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui, which are open 24-hours a day.
