What´s up Hong Kong – Week 5

Food

Maison Libinaise
When: Opening Feb
Where: 33 Shelley St
What? Taking over Life Café’s spot on the midlevel escalator, Maison Libinaise is the vibrant and retro new Lebanese restaurant joining Black Sheep’s growing portfolio. Opening sometime in Feb, we’re expecting great things from the two-leveled French-owned Lebanese. With its rare urban terrace and promises of ‘spice and colour,’ the tiled and arty café is sure to bring something fresh and new to Hong Kong’s busy culinary scene.

Culture

Beardyman
When: Feb 2-3
Where: Udderbelly, Harbourfront Event Space
What? Bringing a little bit of everything to Hong Kong’s first Udderbelly Festival is Beardyman – the British multi-vocalist, comedian and musician. Combining beat boxing, hip-hop, drum and bass, comedy and dub step together in a live looping extravaganza – Beardyman is one act you definitely cannot miss. Hailing from a Jewish family in North London, Beardyman was named in his early years when he needed a stage name for one of his earliest show’s flyers. He’s now beard-less, but the name has stuck, just as his crowds have done since he began in 2006. His show One Album Per Hour will begin at 9pm, you can buy tickets at udderbelly.asia for $385.

Happenings

Rewind’s 1st Year Anniversary

Cliché Records Presents: FKJ

Normally set in the tropical gardens of Puerto Galera, at the foothills of Mt Malasimbo, this weekend Hong Kong is welcoming the rising star of the Parisian electronic scene, FKJ, who will be brining some of those good vibes here.
